This was so helpful to ease my anxiety around transitioning my baby from purees to real foods. She’s 7 months and I’ve only really tried avocado but not long strips. So I’m much more at ease! Thank you!
My boy took massive bites. It didn't matter if the item was mushable, he still choked.
Perfect timing to come across this video! My son will start eating in a couple weeks. Here in Japan they start at 5 months with a thin rice puree as baby’s first food (10:1 water and rice ratio that’s then blended into a puree). Looking forward to giving my little guy all sorts of foods!
Wow this is funny, I’m eating my breakfast and it’s eggs, avocado, hummus, sweet potato hash and a banana. 😂
My kid had a reaction to avocado. 😢
Food to give:
1. Avocado
2. Banana
3. Sweet potato/squash family veggies (olive oil and spices ok. NO SALT.)
4. Egg omelette (allergen)
5. Hummus/Chic peas (allergen)
6. Full fat Yogurt
7. Tomato wedges
8. Cooked veggies
9. Flakey fish
10. Big meat pieces/not chunks
Foods to Avoid:
1. Honey (toxic)
2. Round fruits (chokers) better for more advanced eaters
3. Weenies
4. Whole seeds/nuts (allergens)
5. Raw veggies and
6. Raw hard fruits like apple
7. Dried fruit
8. Nut butters (dilute it/allergen)
9. Small chunks of meat
10. Fish w bones
11. Popcorn and chips
12. High in salt/sodium foods (kidney issues)
13. High in sugar foods
This was extremely helpful. Thank you!
I had an RN tell me to never give your baby cheese or even elderly who struggle eating cheese. It is an extreme choking hazard, it’s sticky and hard to get out. Of course Hot dogs, grapes, and CUTIES. My little brother almost died eating a cutie, thankfully the person watching us knew the Heimlich maneuver.
Demonstration of the 🍌 trick would be appreciated!
Hello you guys still active in replying??
Did you guys give your baby 1 type of food for 3 days and then change to another or did you guys just gave her diff type of food different days?
My boy is 12 months and still eats stage 2 puree in jars. Trying to get him to eat more but any kind of chunk texture makes him gag… he has 8 teeth so I don't understand what to do 🥺
I wouldn’t suggest processed bread crumbs for a baby. Sheesh yall are getting roasted in the comments .
Thanks so much for sharing!!
We’re allergic to bananas 🙁
I learned how to do back blows, but I have a life vac just in case. It gives me peace of mind.
Best first food for my baby:
Bone marrow
Egg
Chicken liver
Heavy cream
Pumpkin
Apple (homemade applesauce)
Meat stock
A new fan from Scotland, you two are so lovely, so relatable I’m a new granny to a gorgeous wee squishy delicious boy and I’m updating all my granny skills. My daughter and partner are amazing young people and doing a wonderful job but I do feel the young ones nowadays are under a lot of pressure at times so much information out there, your channel gives them knowledge based kind and realistic information, thank you, you are appreciated. 💙💕🏴🇬🇧
The baby is a carbon copy of the father! Amazing
